Glen Road Inn was a large brick house, very old and of Dutch design. It had been one of the original manor houses of the area. Once frequented by the wealthy, it was now mainly a tourist stopover. Most of the rooms overlooked gardens.

Welcome to Glen Road Inn!  I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that this website is making it's debut on my one-year anniversary at Schoolgirl Shamus, Inc.  Thank you very much to the lovely Dana for giving me a place within SSI.  I've finally made that space into a functional site, instead of just a place to upload pictures.  *g*

I chose Glen Road Inn because I've always had a fascination with the operating of hotels and bed and breakfast type places.  After joining Jix, I was re-reading the series and keeping my eye out for some "landmark" of the books to use as the premises of my website.  Once I came across the Inn, I knew I'd found it.  I checked around to make sure no one else had claimed it, and when it seemed no one thought it was used, GRI was born in my heart.

It took me MONTHS to find an image to use that I felt did justice to the real (or imagined?) Glen Road Inn.  I finally came across this particular image and was overjoyed.  It's used without permission, but Shhhh!  The photographers didn't respond to my email asking permission to use it, so to me, that's their own fault!

During my search for the perfect photo, I wasn't looking for a building this large.  However, upon reading the description from the books, and knowing that Ella Klein had a room on the third floor, I guessed that the little one story image I've had in my head since I was about 10 probably wasn't right.  *g*

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time here.  Yes, I'm aware that the Stories link does not currently work.  I'm hoping to fix that one day, but I honestly don't know when.
